November 2014: CCTV team recognised in public awards
The contribution of our West Dunbartonshire CCTV to policing in the area was recognised by Police Scotland at a special event hosted by Chief Superintendent Helen Swann, the West Dunbartonshire Divisional Commander, at their HQ in Dunbarton.
The event was also attended by Assistant Chief Constable, Wayne Mawson. A number of police staff were recognised for their contribution to the service for reasons ranging from excellence in drug offence detection initiatives to community safety programmes.
The whole of the Enigma team and their families were invited to the event following a successful nomination from Inspector Coleen Wylie who cited each of the team for their contribution to specific incidents "too numerous to mention."
These included petrol bombing, assault and detection of a range of crimes. Each of the team were presented with a certificate of recognition by the Depute Provost, John Millar.
I was delighted to attend the event with the team and it was a real pleasure to meet their families. The value that the Police place on the service that we provide was really evident. Both the Assistant Chief Constable and the Divisional Commander mingled with us after the award ceremony and were full of praise for the Enigma team.
Well done and thank you to everyone at Clydebank for your commitment and professionalism. Particular thanks to Bill and Charlie who were unable to attend the event as they were busy holding the fort and were presented with their certificates separately.
